WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Just when you thought that utility poles had enough to worry about from wind, snow, and falling trees; Now this. This pole is getting its butt kicked by black bear. Apparently, both male and female bears rub their scent on “marking trees.” However, male black bears especially rub their scent during the spring mating season. Both claw and bite marks are visible. On closer inspection are normally hairs left behind too.
