WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

Hard to tell from the photo, but those are powerlines growing through the middle of those planted cherry trees. When thinking about siting a tree to plant, don’t forget to look up and think about the future of that tree(s). Either this tree needs a severe height reduction or unfortunately should be removed. It’s too bad, since these are fairly healthy for cherry trees. Other things to consider–if you’re new to your property–are things like how wet or poorly drained the site is; This can be better figured out when cutting the grass in the summer. These sites should be avoided since roots prefer well-drained soil. Places where snow removal piles up near driveways should also be avoided since trees get dinged up.
