WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

During the summer and fall you can go for a walk and find something sweet to eat hanging from a vine, bush, or tree in the form of berries, apples, or grapes. But the winter is often bleak for such sweet things. Unless you find some sapsicles. These are found “growing” or forming on wounded maple branches that drip sap when temperatures are just right. Temps have to be just above freezing and then suddenly drop below freezing for the sapsicle to form. Yes, they are maple flavored and sweet enough. My kids love them.
