WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST
I was going through my maple photo archives the other day and came across this one. It shows me pouring a bunch of sap on a “big run” day during the 2010 maple season. This was also the day that dumped a record 3 feet of snow in Arkville, Delaware County and up to 5 feet in the upper elevations. For comparison, Kingston, NY–elevation <200 feet–received only rain. This was the first time I saw how useless normal plow trucks could be and the necessity of front-end loaders for snow removal!
