WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Spring? “Is it coming you ask?” The trees seem anxious to begin. A little rise in temperatures over the weekend surged bud break. My pears and a few apples began bursting. Red maples are popping over many parts of the Catskills. I picked my first trout lilies off the Rail Trail in New Paltz, Ulster County. I haven’t noticed any trout lilies (or leeks) in the higher elevations yet. Things are a little late, but I’m betting they’re going to catch up fast.
May the forest be with you,
