WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

Got a chance to revisit one of my favorite little brook trout streams; It’s been a couple of years. A portion of this stream is flat and meanders through a sandy bed, indicating it was once a beaver swamp many years ago. From the 20 years I’ve been visiting the stream, I have yet to see a beaver. Well, they’re back. And this is some of the most intense beaver work I’ve seen. The diameter of trees this little guy is felling is impressive. Not one, but 2 very large lodges too. For such a small, but wooded stream, it’s impressive. Hats off to this fellow tree feller.

May the Forest Be with You,
