Apple Tree Pruning Demonstration

February 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Learn how to prune your apple tree back to fruition! Many properties in the Catskills have an apple tree or two, planted by a farmer years ago or growing wild. Most of them have been neglected or never pruned at all. Or, maybe your property has a younger tree you’d like to set up for success. A well-developed structure enhances a tree’s ability to create fruit buds and helps it withstand fruit, wind & snow loads, and the weight of wildlife that might clamber up into branches. CFA field staff Ryan Trapani & Zane Lawyer will show you how to prune an apple tree with wild form for structural integrity, fruit production, and aesthetics. Learn how to prune your tree back to fruition!

We will be outdoors, so dress warmly.
