WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

Fall foliage is underway. I have 2 red maples in my yard that are beginning to turn. I realize we had some bad drought this summer, but we could still be in good position for a nice fall foliage season. We’re looking for cool, but not freezing, nights without too much rain or wind to blow the leaves off. My personal favorites are red maple which normally turns brilliant red, sugar maple (gold), and sassafras (gold). I also like white oak which turns a rusty red and tends to hold its leaves longer than others.
