WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

I remember going hunting with my friend in High School; He was showing me around and it seemed we ended up beneath powerlines quite a bit in pursuit of either turkeys or deer. I asked him back then, “Why are we always by powerlines?” He answered bluntly, “That’s where the deer (or turkeys) are Trapani.” I later realized more importantly, that’s where some of the best habitat is. Although completely accidental, powerlines are becoming some of the only young forest around, amongst a “sea” of maturing forest in the Catskill Mountains. How ironic.

May the forest be with you,
