WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Well, it finally happened; I got to taste my first pawpaw fruit. One of our members let me try a pawpaw from one of their trees near West Shokan. I gotta say, this a great fruit. It really does taste like mango, banana-custard. If you’re unsure about what a pawpaw is, look it up; It’s like a northern banana tree. I planted 3 a few years ago on my property, but am still waiting for fruit. Even more surprising is that deer don’t seem to browse it either. We’ll see.

May the forest be with you,
