WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

Seeing trees like this near one’s house is what keeps tree guys in business for sure. The ash trees probably began growing as “volunteers” or from seed and let go over the past 40 or so years. Now they have been infected by emerald ash borer which can be seen by the blonding on the bark. Many of these trees are leaning towards the house and should be taken down immediately. Secondly, is the planted Norway spruce (evergreen) tree. This tree is doing quite well but someday will be a towering tree over the house, perhaps costing many thousands of dollars to take away. Trees appropriately sited can often accrue value or benefits. However, the opposite is true. Trees inappropriately sited or too close to the house often accrue liability and cost. Something to think about.
