WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

I had to install some green carpeting a few weeks ago. I know what you’re thinking. It’s a sin to carpet over wood, right? I’m talking about my firewood-pile. Where I live, I get some pretty fierce wind. I’ve tried tarps, metal sheeting, bungie cords, tie-downs, ply-wood and more, but all become bait for the next wind storm. My neighbor built a shed for his wood-pile and the wind toppled it over. Besides, I have a lot of wood and that would be some big woodshed to build. So, the other day, I found where people were dumping carpeting over the bank above the local stream. Hey, one man’s garbage is another man’s covering for his wood-pile, I guess. Seems to be working so far.
