WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

Maple trees–red and sugar–are beautiful; They give us those brilliant red and golds. However, maple seems more finicky and sensitive to wind and rain and loses its leaves after a storm. Oaks aren’t as bright, but beautiful in their own rite. White oak has a beautiful burgundy-colored foliage that really shows itself up when the fall sunlight hits it. After this week’s rain, most areas will probably lose their leaves, so enjoy it while it lasts.

White oak foliage in the middle; Sugar maple (left) & red maple (right); Red maple normally turns red, but not this year I guess

May the forest be with you,
