WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?

Gun season has begun in our part of New York State. I’ve been seeing bucks chasing does all over the place. Some of these bucks are colliding with bullets from hunters and others into front bumpers of drivers. Anecdotally, I’ve been seeing more deer taken off the roads by collisions than in the back of some guy’s pick-up truck. In any case, Monday morning saw a freezing 16 degrees, but no wind. It’s been a beautiful hunting season and my favorite time of year for sure. The sound of crunching leaves under a deer’s hoof coming towards me never gets old.
