WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Does a fallen tree in the woods make a noise? Well, if no one is around to hear it, then who cares? A fallen tree in the woods normally isn’t “hazardous” either since the chances of it causing harm to property or persons is limited. But, a tree that “fails” near a house certainly makes a noise and is hazardous. I saw this fallen tree on the way to the radio show a few weeks ago near Roxbury. Looks like a huge eastern cottonwood or hybrid poplar (can’t tell from photo); They are not found naturally growing in this neck of the woods, but are instead planted. They are extremely fast-growing and when they fall, they go big.
