WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE FOREST?
Had to get something done on my truck over in Kingston, leaving me some time to go for a walk in the city. I look forward to those walks, since there are normally unique or abnormal trees that I don’t get a chance to see in the woods. On this walk, got to see a large and beautiful yellow poplar; The photo doesn’t do it justice, but it’s beautiful “arboreal” structure is noticeable. The second was a sycamore swallowing up a fence. The third was a “forest” entirely made up of tree-of-heaven. Apparently, tree-of-heaven is the preferred host by the spotted lanternfly, an invasive making its way from PA. We’ll see how that goes.
